Engineering Challenge - Slow

Task

Build the slowest vehicle you can using Lego Technix. Vehicles will be time-trialled along a passage way for a distance of 2m.

Rules

• Only one RCX can be used per vehicle, and it must be attached to the vehicle.
• Only one motor can be used.
• Any gear or wheel combination can be used.
• All parts must be freely moving - friction cannot be used to slow the vehicle down.

Report

Write a brief report which must include the following:

• The time your vehicle achieved during the time-trial.
• A diagram or photo showing the construction of the vehicle.
• A diagram of the gear configuration used.
• Labels showing the number of teeth on each gear, where the motor and wheel attach.
• A description the gear configuration.

Also answer these specific questions:

• Why did this configuration work so well?
• Could the design have been improved?
