Investigation - Inventor Case Study

Task

Create a report describing an inventor of robots.

Instructions

(1) There are many people and organisations that create robots in the world. Wikipedia provides a List of Roboticists and a List of Robotics Companies. Choose one robot inventor (be it an individual, team or company). Where possible, ensure your choice is different from other members of the class.

(2) Attempt to address the following questions about your selected robot. For an individual:

1. What is the inventor’s name?
2. Where do they work?
3. What have they made?
4. When did they make it?
5. What did they do before they made robots?
6. Other life details (when and where they were born, what they studied at school, etc.)

For a team or company:

1. What is the company’s name?
2. Where is it based?
3. How long has it been running for?
4. What have they made?
5. When did they make it?
6. Who is currently a member of the team/company?
7. Any other interesting details.

(3) In addition, try to find the following for your inventor/company:

1. a photo or image of the inventor/company;
2. a photo or image of some of their creations.

Presentation

Your report can be a poster, a Word document, a PowerPoint presentation, or a HTML (web) page.
Reports are to be emailed to your teacher.
